DEBORAH L. ORTEGA

President, served four consecutive terms as Denver City Councilwoman for Denver’s District 9. During this time she served two one-year terms as president of the Denver City Council. In addition to her work with Del Norte, Ms. Ortega is active in mental health, environmental, and minority civil rights issues. Debbie is serving her second term as Denver City Councilwoman-At-Large. Deborah has been a member of the board since 1978.

FEDERICO ALVAREZ

Director, served as a Denver District Judge for nine years and was a County Court Judge before that. Mr. Alvarez started his career as a Deputy State Public Defender and later became an Assistant Attorney General. In private practice now, he specializes in civil and commercial litigation, in telecommunications field. He is a member of several bar associations, several judicial organizations, and is a former volunteer for Mile High United Way. Federico currently owns and operates Alvarez ADR, LLC. Federico has been a member of the board since 1996.

JUDE DEL HIERRO

Director, a native Colorado, has been in ministry for over twenty-five years, twelve of those years as a founding associate pastor of an inner-city church. Along with a team of volunteers from several churches, Mr. Del Hierro founded Confluence Ministries located at 1400 Quitman, in the west Colfax neighborhood of Denver. Taking a hands-on approach to meet the needs of the community, Jude lives where he serves. Jude has been a member of the board since 2008.

JOANNA MARTINEZ

Director, is the former Principal of Colfax Elementary School, located in the West Colfax neighborhood of Denver. Ms. Martinez is an activist concerned with the home life of students as it impacts their learning. Joanna has been a member of the board since 2014.

DOLORES MORENO

Director, is active in recreation relative to youth school-based programs. Ms. Moreno is employed as Director of Recreation, Recreation Administration with the City and County of Denver, located at 201 West Colfax Avenue. Dolores has been a member of the board since 1991.

TIM SANDOS

Director, with 20 years experience in sales, management and professional consulting with a significant record of achievement in government, community and industry relations at the federal, state and local levels. Mr. Sandos has a strong history of success developing relationships with elected officials, state and local advocacy groups, and national trade associations to build public policy positions advancing the organizations interests. Timothy has been a member of the board since 2015.
